Tiffany Haddish was born into poverty in one of the poorest neighborhoods in South Central Los Angeles. After her mother survived a car accident, she ended up with debilitating brain damage. Tiffany was always different from everyone else. She didn’t fit into any of her homes, nor did she fit into the all-white high school she attended. As an illiterate 9th grader, Tiffany tried to survive by doing anything she could. After a lot of jobs, she eventually realized that she had a talent for comedy. Tiffany faced the ‘normal’ obstacles of climbing the entertainment industry ladder – but had the added obstacles of sex, race, and class in her way too. She made it there. She’s humble, appreciative, grounded, and hilarious.

“Tiffany Haddish’s memoir, The Last White Unicorn, is one of the most honest and poignant books you could find. The book is hilarious, inspiring, and heartbreaking at the same time.”

Tiffany is always funny: She just has a natural sense of humor. But The Last Black Unicorn is more than just a side-splitting collection of essays; it’s a memoir of one woman who came out of nowhere and nothing. She was able to achieve her dream by reveling in her painful experiences, showing the world who really she is, and inspiring others by laughing at herself.

Can’t Hurt Me (2018)

This is a book about David Goggins : a retired Navy SEAL and the only person to complete SEAL training, U.S. Army Ranger School, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller training. Each of those themselves are the hardest training courses in the world. Only exceptionally few complete each of them, he completed all of them. He also is a serious endurance athlete : an ultra-runner, a multiple ironman and former world-record holder for pull-ups. Definitely one of those rarefied serious freaks of nature. This book is a hard-hitting part-self-help, and part-motivational self-memoir. A personal recollection of an inspiring life. A life in which he was dealt as bad as hand as possible. But he overcame all the odds and became one of the hardest man in the world.
