She gets her car, belongings, and every person in the town stolen by a thief. The thief is rude to her, and the barber who cuts her hair is grumpy. All this happens in the first few chapters. The entire book is Naomi trying not to be a victim and trying to clean up the damage she caused. It seems Naomi has a martyr complex, but she doesn’t realize it. She has an innate impulse to put everyone else before herself. But she often crosses into self-deprecating territory.

“An amazing novel that reminds us that bravery comes in all forms, including when you’re dealing with a large extended family and it’s messy, complicated, and sometimes even dangerous. Unpretentious, but deep story that tells us about love, family, adn life”

It’s a feel-good story with a few twists added in for extra flavor. Lucy writes from her heart, which is clearly evidenced by the endearing characters she crafts. The small town of Knockelmout gets an unexpected visit, Naomi Witt. Who is an exact version of Tina Witt in physicality. The town never forgets. It holds grudgement against the troublemaker so badly, that seeds sown by Tina are grown into Naomi.
