When Saphira and Eragon meet, they form a special bond, but after the King learns of Saphira, he begins to pursue her relentlessly, wanting to take her for himself. Eragon and Saphiras escape their village with an old man who reveals that he is one of the last of the Dragon riders, once thought extinct in her world, and that Eragon and his dragon were the kingdom’s only hope for survival. Now Eragon and Arya must train hard to master the ancient magic of the elves, join the resistance, fight for the restoration of balance in Alagësia, and defeat Galbatorix once and for all.
